Today the City of Bee Cave officially celebrated its 20th year anniversary of incorporation. It was August 17th, 1987 when the citizens convened to create what has become a vibrant, dynamic community boasting services and amenities befitting the scenic beauty of the area and belying the rustic area nestled in the heart of the hill country. With the new city hall under construction in the center of the Hill Country Galleria, Councilman Chad Bokius and Councilman Steve Braasch unveiled a new plaque (see photo inset below) to commemorate the occasion. An old fashioned BBQ lunch and watermelon bust was provided to the attendees and meant especially for the Browning Construction crew, who are hard at work on the new facility.

Bee Cave officials will break ground on the brand new Bee Cave City Hall November 14, 2006 at 12:00 noon. The City Hall's innovative two-story design features 10,000 square feet of municipal offices, 5,000 sq ft of community space, a 5,000 sq ft Public Library, and approximately 9,500 sq ft of expansion space. The new building will help facilitate the rapid growth Bee Cave is experiencing. Located just 8 miles west of Austin, Bee Cave is no longer a sleepy town nestled in the Hill Country. The city's total appraised value has grown approximately 400% in the past seven years. Bee Cave officials manage this growth by providing the services and amenities the citizens seek. Bee Cave's first ever Police Department and Public Library began full operation in the past year and have become a successful part of the community. The City Council has also adopted a Parks and Open Space Master Plan and begun the design phase for a 50-acre Central Park located in the heart of the city.
